CMC General Surgery Residency – Rural Surgery Focus
There is a significant shortage of surgeons in rural areas, and our program addresses this issue by helping medical students/ residents pursue a career in rural surgery. We offer a five-year program (for one resident each residency year) that combines the academic excellence of CMC General Surgery Residency with a robust community and rural surgery experience within the Advocate Health System.
The position is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and when completed each resident is eligible for certification through the American Board of Surgery.
